Oxford Street in London is Britain's busiest shopping street, attracting around 200 million visitors per year (By comparison, the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN, attracts 42 million visitors per year, and the metropolitan region of Orlando, FL, attracts 38 million visitors per year). In addition to over 300 shops, the same buildings contain offices, hotels, apartments and a number of language schools. Oxford Street is almost exclusively accessed by transit: it has four Underground (Subway) stops along it's one mile length, and is served by 39 different bus routes. Although cars are not permitted on Oxford Street, limited parking is available in nearby garages. Since Oxford Street is located in a dense, mixed use area, many people also live within walking distance, and by only deviating a block or two from the street, one can find restaurants, theatres, nightlife, parks and museums.
